The Minutes of past SFEVA Chapter Meetings!
SFEVA MINUTES January 8, 2005
Meeting was held on a very rainy Sat at my house. Nine people attended, 6 are EAA members.
I gave a report on the upcoming Ranger vigil in Sacto and continuing EV1/RAV4 EV anti-crushing organizing.
Max Jackson told us about the possible EV bay at the new site of Embarcadero Automotive.
EAA v EVA - Pretty general agreement that "electric vehicle" was more inclusive, and more representative. Sherry has since told me the EAA has no problem with the change. There will be some small cost in changing our name and accounts. We should probably vote on it at the next meeting to make it official and act upon it after that.
The 110volt outlet hunt continues. (Oakland Museum of Art pay parking lot has outlets by a number of spots level 1) What to do with this information, how to make it practicably useful, remains an open question.
We agreed to ask Ron Grenbam, the man doing the Prius+ work, to make a presentation at the February or March meeting.
We agreed we need to find a way to reach out to people in the City with EVs, from the registered cars to scooters. Danny Ames suggested a card could be produced to leave on EVs one comes across. Let them know the SFEVA exists. We could print them up at relatively small expense and/or create a .pdf for self-printing.
Everyone was very pleased that Jon has gotten our website up so quickly. Thank you Jon. There was general agreement we want some representation of our activist side represented on the front page. Everyone is encouraged to send Jon content and photos of them with their EVs for the Gallery.
Sherry and I will be meeting on Wednesday with Rick Ruvolo, Manager, Clean Air Program, SF Department of the Environment. A number of the issues above will be discussed with him.
