The Minutes of past SFEVA Chapter Meetings!
SFEVA MINUTES December 3, 2005
We wrapped up SFEVA events for the year, began talking about 2006, and got a look at Danny's new Solectria Force at our Dec. 3 meeting. Eleven people came.
Marc described the surprisingly receptive audience he found when he helped out at the display of the plug-in Prius at the SF International Auto Show.
Greg had just returned from the second annual CalStart 2020 conference on the future of vehicles in California, which he said was overpriced and woefully short of information on EVs. They mainly focused on conventional gas hybrids. He drove to CalStart - in Los Angeles! - in his RAV4-EV on Highway 101, and he described for us how he charged along the way.
Sherry agreed to continue as president and treasurer of the SFEVA, and Marc continues as vice-president of the chapter. Marc will run the meetings for the next few months while Sherry writes a book about plug-in hybrids.
Using the outline below, we started to discuss plans for 2006. The sentiment seemed to be that we need to brainstorm on influencing politicians to take actions that will help get new EVs or plug-in hybrids to market. For example, what do we want SF City to do or say in the coming year, and what do we need to do to make that happen?
The discussion will continue at the next meeting on Sat., Jan. 7, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Marc and Kevin's house, 847 Haight Street just east of Divisadero.
In the meantime, several members volunteered to arrange SFEVA participation in the events below.
