NemaFiveFifteen
From SanFranciscoEVA
- NEMA 5-15 is the name of the common 3 prong 15 amp outlet found all over the US (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NEMA_connector) and is what the Vectrix electric scooter wants for charging.
- My Vectrix VXe has an in-town range of about 40 miles on a full charge Take it on the highway, run it at top end for a while and that drops to around 30 miles. If people are going to commute into San Francisco they are going to need to charge while they're here.
- BMC (Northern CA Vectrix dealer) is very interested in providing their customers a list of places to plug in.
- BMC is also working with Vectrix on an adapter to charge from 220 VAC outlets (it seems the onboard charger will auto switch, depending on what it's fed.)
