First, a little about who we are: ThunderStruck Motors is a small shop that specializes in conversions and sales of production electric bikes, scooters, and motorcycles. Further, we have been especially successful in the performance market. The owner, Brian Hall, is also president of NEDRA, the National Electric Drag Race Association.

In September of 2006, Zap moved from it's warehouse in Sebastopol to a facility in Santa Rosa. This move enabled Brian to leverage his many favors and old stock toward high quality imported , (non Zap), electric bikes and scooters. Both items are made in Italy. We were able to acquire 60 electric bikes and 28 scooters very, very cheap. We were so impressed with their quality that we sought more stock to sell. Unfortunately, only 60 more scooters with parts remained in the country in Pennsylvania. With a partner, Brian purchased and transported to California these units as well. Both of these items have been sitting in warehouses for about 3 years, victims of a failed sales network.

Prima electric bikes

Two models from the Italian manufacturer Prima , the Runner, along with L'eco, propel you into perfect harmony between electric power and the simplicity of a bicycle. A powerful hub motor in the front wheel automatically engages after pedalling a few turns, and will give you an assist speed up to 18 mph. They can be operated as regular bicycles at any time, with on/off and economy and sport modes switchable from the handlebars. Batteries are fit into a solid, lockable pack that can be removed for charging which is about 3 to 5 hours. The five speed Sachs internal hub transmission ensures easy and effective pedalling with the motor on or off. The heavy frame and wide wheels enable them to go on rough dirt roads or pavement without harm. Standards such as wheel generated head and tail lights, reflectors, cargo rack, distinctive bell, and a cushy gel seat make for comfort and safety. Locking glove box, (Runner model), and a locking battery pack, (all models) ensure security.

36 volt system, with a 250 watt brushless motor. Range is about 20 miles. Available in white, grey, green, blue, and ochre.

Lepton Scooters by Oxygen

The scooters made by Oxygen S.P.A., did not fare as well in storage, suffering minor cosmetic scratches on some of them. These scooters are limited to 30mph and under, and qualifies for the DMV's 406A/B code. A license is not required to operate them. They originally sold for $6200.00 U.S., we are now offering them, again to E.A.A. members only for $1500.00, WITH FREE DELIVERY. A 90 day warranty is standard, an extended 3 year warranty can be purchased for $200.00. Group purchase price of $1350 for quantity of 5 or more.

The Lepton model by Oxygen S.P.A. will carry one or two adults for a distance of 30 to 40 miles at speeds up to 30 mph. These are new scooters that were warehoused for about 3 years so they are sold as reconditioned vehicles with new batteries and cables. They are full-sized scooters, available in black or red, that look very much like their gas-powered Vespa counterparts. 48 volt system with a powerful 1800 watt brushless motor. Regenerative braking. Front and rear drum brakes, turn signals, headlight, horn, cargo rack, and under seat storage make them practical as well as safe. Advanced electronics inform driver of state of charge and miles remaining, based on the last two minutes of driving. State of the art inductive key system makes theft by hot-wiring impossible.

Compare with other electric scooters from Asia, and you will notice the difference in quality immediately. Original 38 amp hour batteries replace with new 50 amp hour packs, and will charge in four hours.
