Toronto MC Haviah Mighty arrives this beautiful Friday morning with the chic new single “Tesla”. The last preview of his next mixtape stock Exchange is co-produced by Young Dreadz of Montreal and is accompanied by a video directed by Jesse Bryan.
“Tesla” isn’t a drag – just a race – as Mighty crosses hard-hitting bars to realize just how far his driving can take him. The song was inspired by the pivotal moment of the artist’s first U.S. tour just before the pandemic.
Mighty explained in a statement:
Be fresh after freestyle [Sway Calloway’s radio show] Swing in the morning a few days earlier, to perform in New York, San Francisco, Los Angeles… it all solidified something in my mind – the idea that I could really do it. The only thing I have to do is keep working hard. One thing that always worried me is stagnating and only getting recognized for the last thing I did, so maintaining that work ethic has to be a central point for me. While much of this song is about the things that I feel like I’m about to accomplish, some of which are these nice material things to have – to me these things are symbolic of something more abstract: a lifestyle that I couldn’t understand before.
Likewise, the video shows the rapper taking on a video game-inspired cityscape of Toronto – from Prince’s Gate, right next to the Budweiser Stage Amphitheater where she performed three sold-out nights with Arkells in August – with using some gentle rides. , sure.
“Tesla” follows “Avocado” and a slew of other new Mighty tracks ahead of the highly anticipated arrival of stock Exchange November 12.

Mighty recently received the 2021 Prism Award for “Thirteen” music video from his 2019 LP 13th floor – but the acclamation did not change her.
