San Mateo Co. residents eligible for electric vehicle discounts

SAN MATEO COUNTY, CA – Residents of San Mateo County are eligible for discounts of up to $ 4,000 if they purchase a used electric vehicle through a Peninsula Clean Energy program.

Regardless of income, residents can receive a rebate of $ 700 for a plug-in hybrid and $ 1,000 for a fully electric vehicle. Income-eligible residents are eligible for discounts of up to $ 3,700 for a plug-in hybrid and $ 4,000 for fully electric vehicles.

Peninsula Clean Energy, the official electricity supplier for San Mateo County, has partnered with nonprofit clean energy supplier GRID Alternatives Bay Area for the used electric vehicle rebate program.

“These discounts, coupled with our massive efforts to install new charging infrastructure, create an unprecedented opportunity for San Mateo County residents to switch to electric vehicles that save them money and reduce emissions. greenhouse gases that heat our planet, ”said Donna, member of Burlingame city council. Electric vehicles eligible for the rebate program must be eight years of age or newer and have a pre-incentive purchase price of $ 25,000 or less.
