Tata Motors delivers 712 electric vehicles in a single day to customers

Tata Motors said on Saturday it delivered 712 electric vehicles (EVs) to individual customers in Maharashtra and Goa, setting a record for the largest single-day delivery of four-wheeled electric vehicles in the country.

The company said it delivered 564 Nexon electric vehicles and 148 Tigor electric vehicles in a single day on Saturday.

Tigor EV has an ARAI (Automotive Research Association of India) certified range of 306 km. It is equipped with a 26 kWh high energy density lithium-ion battery and offers a maximum power output of 55 kW and a maximum torque of 170 Nm. It goes from 0 to 60 km/h in 5.7 seconds.

Meanwhile, Nexon EV, an ambitious SUV, has an ARAI-certified range of 312 km. It has a 129 PS permanent magnet AC motor powered by a 30.2 kWh lithium-ion battery.

“Today’s opportunity to deliver 712 EVs in a single day to customers in Maharashtra and Goa (a milestone achieved by a 4-wheeler manufacturer in India) is an achievement we are thrilled with. It proves no not only the successful breakthroughs of Tata Motors’ electric vehicles in personal mobility, but also a testament to the value and trust customers place in them,” said Vivek Srivatsa, Head of Marketing Strategy, Sales and service at Tata Passenger Electric Mobility.

Tata Motors is constantly working on educating and improving the adoption of electric mobility in the country and hopes this opportunity will serve as an example for other states to join and support India’s green wave, it said. -he adds.

The Tata Group company claims to have an 87% market share of electric vehicles in the 11 months of the 2021-2022 financial year, and more than 21,500 Tata electric vehicles on the road so far.
